Navarra Wine
The appellation Navarra is located in the province divided into 5 sub-making broths: Baja Montaña, Tierra Estella, Valdizarbe, Ribera Alta and Ribera Baja. Navarra wines are produced in red, white, pink and muscat. The DO benefit from the diversity of climates and landscapes combine Navarra makes continental climates, Atlantic and Mediterranean. The soil also marked by the diversity offered in the low mountain and gravelly soil in low red Mountain Ground limestone Valdizarbe Estella, and brown and alluvial soils in Ribera Baja.
DO Navarra has an area of 18,400 hectares of vineyards. Annually produces 60 million liters of wine divided between 127 of 5,260 wineries and winegrowers. Until the 80's, was produced mainly pink, but from that time worked in the production of red and white wines that are generally aromatic and fruity and very balanced. Navarre has become a reference in the production of Chardonnay.
In addition to Chardonnay, white wines are made from Garnacha Blanca, Malvasia, Viura and Moscatel de Grano Menudo.For red wines, the designation of origin using the following varieties: Grenache, Graciano, Cabernet sauignon, Carignan, Merlot and Tempranillo.
